RADIO SPINNER has a collection of radio transcripts, airchecks and special broadcasts. This is another rare find from Aircheck City. This is an unscoped, unedited recording of Allison Steele, known as the "Night Bird". This particular show was aired on May 22nd 1972. Steele began her show by reciting poetry over Andean flute music, before introducing her show in her well-known sultry, smoky voice with,"The flutter of wings, the shadow across the moon, the sounds of the night, as the Nightbird spreads her wings and soars, above the earth, into another level of comprehension, where we exist only to feel. Come, fly with me, Alison Steele, the Nightbird, at WNEW-FM, until dawn." Allison Steele worked at WNEW FM 102.7 in New York from 1966-1979, sadly she passed away on September 27th, 1995. Here is a great piece of music history from WNEW FM, another radio station that has gone to that great FM Radio History Heaven. This show runs for 60:23.
The sound quality is excellent, mastered on CD. Airchecks are recorded from radio broadcasts as it happened as a piece of documented music history. Most airchecks are recorded on tape which might have a break in conversation or song due to tape flipping then transferred to Compact Disc. No artwork or jewel cases are included, pictures are for illustration only, CD's are labeled and enclosed in a plain white envelope, they are shipped in a protective bubble pack shipping envelope.
